The Montpelier Exempted Village School Board recently approved a purchase agreement for the factory and 10 acres of ground on Henricks Drive adjacent to the existing property. This facility will be renovated in September to house our transportation department and maintenance department. Montpelier Schools currently rents a portion of the Robinair building to utilize as the bus maintenance garage. The district expects to save $20,000 of general fund dollars annually on fuel and rent costs by moving the transportation operations to this facility. The purchase agreement for the facility was $350,000, and is being paid for with permanent improvement funds and funds from the .5 maintenance levy that was passed with the bond issue for the new school.
